Dr. Tony Pope

Dr Pope graduated from Barts and the London Medical School in 2004 having completed an intercalated degree in biomedical Science at the Wolfson institute. He moved to the region in 2008 working at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre where he completed his Oncology training to join the specialist register.
His speciality is all aspects of Lung cancer (non small cell,small cell and mesothelioma), utilising chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy and immune therapy. His NHS practice covers both the Wirral population and the regional thoracic centre the Liverpool Heart and Chest hospital.
He is the Lung lead for our Sterotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SABR) group accepting both local and regional referrals.
He has a strong interest in research and is in charge the local aspects of several national and European trials involving SABR, Intensity modulated radiotherapy and immune therapy.
