Having served as a consultant oncologist since 2010, Dr Ghosal is highly experienced in managing all types of lung cancers. He completed his oncology training in the Christie Hospital and had additional training in advanced radiotherapy techniques such as SABR, IMRT and VMAT in the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He is keen on combination treatments for lung cancers using chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, biological and targeted treatment modalities.
Dr Ghosal served as an Examiner and also the Chair of the Exam Board (Part 1) of the Royal College Radiologists, Faculty of Clinical Oncology for many years. He regularly teaches senior trainee oncologists in the UK, India, Malaysia and Hong Kong before they sit for their final examinations. He served as the Royal College Tutor for the North Wales Oncology Training programme. He also held Lecturer and Senior Lecturer positions with the Manchester and Cardiff Universities. He was the recipient of National Best Trainer Award from the Royal College of Radiologists as well as the prestigious Generation Q Fellowship awarded by the Health Foundation.
Dr Ghosal has keen interest in research and have served as a Principal Investigator of Cancer Trials in Lung and Breast cancers.
