Dr Heseltine specialises in the treatment of thoracic malignancies and works in the general lung cancer clinics as well as the specialised mutation-driven lung cancer and mesothelioma clinics. He is the clinical lead for acute oncology for the Warrington and Halton NHS Foundation Trust where he leads a team that manage general oncological emergencies and severe side-effects from anti-cancer treatments.
He has an active interest in research and is a principle investigator for clinical trials at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. He is the clinical lead for the Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance Acute Oncology Clinical Quality Group and is part of national working groups pertaining to Acute Oncology. He is proactively involved in locally implementing new technologies, pathways and treatments for cancer patients and has served as an expert advisor to NICE on issues relating to Acute Oncology and lung cancer.
