The Clatterbridge Private Clinic (CPC) held its second annual Open Evening in Liverpool on 17 October 2024 to showcase the clinic, our team, and the new treatments available at the cutting edge of cancer care to colleagues throughout the healthcare sector. Many of the CPC’s consultants, senior CCC Trust, and Mater Private team joined to welcome the guests and share the progress in Oncology over the last 12 months since the last event.
It was an enjoyable night and we enjoyed sharing more about the clinic and the great work we do here with our guests. It was exciting for us to be able to share some of our new treatment services already available at the clinic and discuss the upcoming launches which will help to improve cancer care for thousands of patients throughout the Northwest and beyond.
Duncan Armfield, General Manager of the CPC, said “It was great to have so many of the wider CPC team attending this year, including our partners who helped to launch the brand new Radioligand treatment for Prostate Cancer available in the New Year.”
“We celebrated many of the new services introduced over the past 12 months, including the Dupuytren’s service, the first joint clinics, the new range of Oncology Genetic testing to personalise care, a Good CQC rating, new Brachytherapy treatments, plus many improvements in the drug treatments and Radiotherapy protocols we use.”
“We pride ourselves on providing a relaxing and friendly environment within the clinics so our patients receive the very best, personalised care during their time with us both in the Wirral and Liverpool. Therefore, being able to show this to our friends and colleagues from across the healthcare sector provides assurance their patients are in safe hands and receiving the best care possible.”
During the evening, guests were greeted by the CPC team and consultants before hearing speeches from Dr Liz Bishop, CEO of CCC, Dr Shaun Tolan, Head of Urology in CPC and CCC, Hugh Healy, Director of Cancer for Mater Private Network and Duncan Armfield General Manager of CPC.
Dr Liz Bishop relayed the increasing number of referrals into the CCC at 35,000+ per year and the Private Clinic provides Clatterbridge patients with the opportunity to have private care with us. Dr Tolan mentioned the unique nature of the clinic, supporting the consultant team to be able to deliver private care in such a local and high-quality care environment, plus being able to use treatments not yet available in the NHS.
Hugh Healy talked of the close relationship the Clinic has with both partners and the new services launched within the past 12 months, benefitting all our patients, including those from overseas.
A tour of the Clinic and Hospital followed showing all the state-of-the-art facilities available, including Radiotherapies, Diagnostics, Outpatient, Day Case and private en-suite Inpatient rooms. This even included a demonstration of how one of our cutting-edge LINAC radiotherapy machines works.
The tour ended with a trip to the top-floor terrace of the hospital which boasts stunning views of the Liverpool skyline, showing our guests how the clinic is in the heart of the healthcare village. Finally, a networking opportunity while having some welcome refreshments took place within the clinic, with guests taking away a gift pack, including plenty of information on the range of treatments the clinic has on offer.
We’d like to extend our thanks to everyone who attended. We are looking forward to planning the next event, where we can connect with more healthcare professionals and showcase the benefits of referring patients to the Clatterbridge Private Clinic.
