The Clatterbridge Private Clinic is proud to announce that it has achieved Gold Compliance from the PHIN (Private Health Information Network), recognising our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data quality, transparency, and patient care.
This prestigious accreditation demonstrates that The Clatterbridge Private Clinic consistently meets the highest standards for the quality, completeness, and timeliness of the data we submit. We have successfully achieved all seven PHIN Data Maturity Milestones across submission periods, exceeding the requirements for Gold status, which only requires six milestones to be met, showing a real commitment to data quality and completeness.
As a result, we’ve been awarded the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) compliance badge, which signifies that we fully meet the requirements of the Private Healthcare Market Investigation Order. Our data submissions cover key areas such as activity, patient outcomes, safety, and patient experience, all of which contribute to national reporting across the independent healthcare sector.
This achievement supports greater transparency for patients, empowering them to make more informed choices about where they receive care. It also enables benchmarking across providers, helping to drive continuous improvement in the quality and safety of care.
What is PHIN Gold Compliance?
PHIN is the independent, government-mandated organisation responsible for collecting and publishing information about private healthcare services across the UK. Its role is to improve transparency within the independent healthcare sector by ensuring that patients have access to clear, reliable information when making decisions about their treatment and care.
To achieve Gold Compliance, healthcare providers must demonstrate excellence in submitting comprehensive and accurate data across several key areas, including:
- Clinical activity and treatments delivered
- Patient outcomes
- Safety measures and quality indicators
- Patient experience and satisfaction
By achieving all seven data maturity milestones, The Clatterbridge Private Clinic has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to data quality, ensuring that information reported about our services is accurate, complete, and delivered within required timescales.

A team effort
Andrea Law, Principal Information Analyst at Clatterbridge, said: “Clatterbridge is now gold compliant post a submission to PHIN. We have met all seven PHIN milestones for the current period, and we’re already set for the next period of time as well. This achievement means we have successfully met the requirements outlined by the Competition and Markets Authority and, as a result, have been awarded their badge.”
“Just to clarify, the Data Maturity Milestones only require six out of seven milestones for gold compliance, but Clatterbridge has gone the extra mile and achieved all seven.”
Duncan Armfield, General Manager of the Clatterbridge Private Clinic, added:
“Andrea’s team support the Private Clinic so we can continuously improve for our Clatterbridge patients. It is reassuring to know we already achieve the highest standards, so the data we use is up to date and of the highest quality. I want to thank Andrea and the Business Intelligence team for supporting the Private Clinic.”
