Hayley’s High Five: Charity Fundraiser Honouring a Mother’s Legacy and Raising Awareness for Cervical Cancer

Here at Clatterbridge Private Clinic, we are deeply committed to supporting local charities and giving back to causes wherever we can, and this cause is one that hits close to home.

On Sunday 9th February 2025, we supported an integral member of our clinic with their charity fundraising day in Liverpool to raise awareness of cervical cancer. Grace Walker, a member of the CPC patient support team, organised and led the event with her cousin, Vicki Manford, in memory of her mother, Hayley Walker, as we approach the fifth anniversary of Hayley’s passing from cervical cancer. With Hayley’s favourite number being five—and Vicki’s business, Frank Photos Liverpool, celebrating its fifth anniversary—it was only fitting to theme the day as Hayley’s High Five.

Reflecting on the event, Grace said:

“On the fun day, we had raffles, tombola, virtual horse racing and lots of other games and entertainment. We ended up raising a total of £1,378.49, and Vicki and I decided to split this between two charities that meant the most to my mum, Hayley and our family. These were the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity to thank Clatterbridge for the amazing care she received when she was ill, for which we could not thank them enough.”

“The other half went to Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Liverpool where my mum worked for 10+ years in recognition of the incredible work they do for their patients and families. Vicki and I would like to thank CPC for donating prizes, including the pamper boxes, men’s and women’s gift sets and other items that helped raise the money. One thing I would like to spread awareness of would be for women to understand the symptoms of cervical cancer and to get their smear test when requested; it could save your life!”

At CPC, we couldn’t be prouder of Grace and Vicki for their dedication, and the positive impact they have made in memory of Hayley.

Cancer affects not just the individual but their entire family, which is why we take immense pride in the compassionate care we provide. Supporting events like Hayley’s High Five is just one of the many ways we strive to make a difference in our community.

Congratulations to Grace, Vicki, and everyone involved in making this event a success!
